Gretchen L (Ellis) Ceney

Gretchen L. Ceney, 84, of Mt. Carmel, IL. went to be with her Lord on Monday, November 23, 2015 at her residence.  She was born Saturday, January 10, 1931, in Newark, Ohio, the daughter of John R. and Margaret L. (Gartner) Ellis. Gretchen was a homemaker.

                Gretchen married her husband of 46 years, Raymond Ceney, on Saturday, October 24, 1959.  He preceded her in death.

                Gretchen was a member of the Bellmont Christian Church in Bellmont, Illinois.  She also belonged to the Christian Auxiliary of Wabash Christian Retirement Center, in Carmi, Illinois where she organized people to volunteer at the Retirement Center.

                Left to cherish the memories of Gretchen are a son, John R. (Barbara) Ceney of Prince George, Virginia, and daughter Sarah A. Ceney of Bellmont, Illinois; two granddaughters, Britney and Jessica Ceney.

                Preceding her in death are her parents and husband Raymond Ceney.

                A Memorial Service for Gretchen will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Bellmont Christian Church, Bellmont, Illinois. Private graveside services will follow at a later date in Bethel Cemetery in Bellmont. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until time of service.
