Brett K. Kennard

Brett K. Kennard, 49, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

          He was born Tuesday, July 5, 1966, the son of Charles F. and Suzie Kennard in Evansville, Indiana.  Brett was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School.  On January 5, 1990, he married Dianne Haase.  They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this year.

          Brett was a farmer.  He enjoyed hunting, boating, going to Disney with his family and attending all his children’s activities.  Taking his family to Kentucky Lake and Disney World made special memories for Brett.

          Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 25 years, Dianne; four sons, Mason F. Kennard, Logan K. Kennard, Trevor L. Kennard and Gage C. Kennard; mother, Suzie Kennard; a brother, Dan Kennard, and three sisters, Denia Ashby, Kim and husband Ed Thompson and Nickie and husband Greg Osborne.

          Preceding him in death were his grandparents and father, Charles F. Kennard.

          Visitation will be Saturday, November 7, 2015, from 11:00 to 2:00 at Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.  Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 1827 College Drive, Mt. Carmel, Illinois, with Rev. Ann Tofani officiating.
