Anna Mae (Kling) Kohlbecker

     Anna Mae “Toots” Kohlbecker, 91, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

     She was born January 14, 1925, the daughter of Joe and Kate (Otto) Kling in Mt. Carmel.  She graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in 1943.  She worked many years at Meissner’s Electronic Components Company and at the Daily Republican Register.

     Left to cherish her memory is her son, James “Eddie” and wife Aleta Phelps of Mt. Carmel; six grandchildren; sixteen greatgrandchildren; and 21 great-greatgrandchildren with one on the way; and sister, Amelia Eva Schuster.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, James R. Kohlbecker; siblings, Mary Kathryn Russell, William Martin Kling, Josephine Kling and Alice Marcella Kuehling.

     Family and friends are welcome to visitation on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 10:00 to 12:00 in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.  Funeral services will begin immediately following at 12:00 noon with Pastor Tony Hodgson officiating.  Burial will be at Highland Memorial Cemetery.

     Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.  Envelopes will be available at Short Funeral Home.
