Iva Lorraine (Walker) Branham

Iva L. Branham, 57, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surround by her loving family.

          She was born Monday, November 10, 1958, in Fairfield, Illinois, the daughter of Melvin Donal and Wanda Jane (Slade) Walker.  Iva attended Heartland Worship Center and was director of Safe Haven Woman’s Shelter in Mt. Carmel.

          Left to cherish her memories is her mother, Wanda  Stallings of Mt. Carmel; children, Michelle and husband Corey Barnes of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Jeramy Walker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; siblings, Michael and wife Debora Walker of Anderson, Indiana, Donna and husband Robert Powell of Albion, Illinois, Nancy Robinson of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, and Lisa and husband Leonard Hartley of Bridgeport, Illinois. 

          Preceding her in death was her father, Melvin Walker.

          Visitation will be Saturday, July 2, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Short Funeral home with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Short Funeral Home is located at 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.  Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery in Mt. Erie, Illinois.

          Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Safe Haven, Mt. Carmel, IL.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
