Alice Marie Corrie

Alice Marie Corrie, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Wabash General Hospital.

            Alice was born the middle child of Harry and Mary Ellen (Wirth) Hartman on Monday, June 8, 1925, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.  In 1949, she married William F. Corrie in Mt. Carmel. 

            She was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church of Orio.  From 1963 to 1995 Alice worked as an LPN.  Everyone she served loved her.  On her time away from work, Alice enjoyed spending time with her family that she dearly loved.  She was known by her grandchildren as loving Grandma Corrie.  While her children were growing up, the family made many memories on camping trips.   

            Left to cherish her memory is her children Bryan Corrie of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Tim and his wife Diane Corrie of San Antonio, Texas and Jennifer Corrie of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; grandchildren Jason (Kim) Corrie, Jed (Melissa) Corrie, Brett Corrie and Kit Corrie; a sister, Betty Taylor; a brother, Jay Hartman; and three greatgrandchildren. 

            Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and infant son, Mark. 

            Visitation will be held Friday, September 30, 2016, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with services immediately following at 11:00 in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

            Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 1827 College Drive, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.  Burial and a military service for Alice’s husband, William F. Corrie, will also take place at that time.

            Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Wabash County Shelter Buddies.  Envelopes will be available at Short’s.
