            Adélaïde Emmanuelle Cutchin, 22, of Allendale, IL, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017.

 

            She was born November 8, 1994, in Princeton, IN, the daughter of Jeffrey B. and Claudine D. (Delhomme) Cutchin.  Adélaïde was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School in 2013.  She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science-History from Oakland City University in 2016 and was pursuing a Master’s Degree in Historical Administration.  Adélaïde was dedicated to her studies.  She was recognized by Who’s Who Among College Students, was a Scholar Bowl enthusiast, and received several convention awards for her hand-made costumes.

 

            Adélaïde’s hobbies and interests included reading, costume making, going to conventions, cosplaying, and studying the history of France. She was especially interested in the Napoleonic era, Elizabethan Era and Roman history. She loved the topic of Napoleon and had a History themed tumblr page. She was also a collector of rocks & minerals, animé characters, and plushies.

 

            She loved traveling.  Many places traveled were Miami, FL for spring breaks, Florida Keyes, France to visit family and sight see; Kentucky Lake for recreation, Atlanta, Ga for DragonCon, Disney World, Rolling Stones Concerts and mineral digs in Kentucky.

 

            Left to cherish her memory is her father; maternal Mami, Denise Rabiller; honorary big sister, Adena Rivas; aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

            Preceding her in death by her paternal grandparents, William “Bill” and Sherrill Cutchin; maternal Papi, Bernard Rabiller.

 

            Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, IL.

 

            The funeral service will begin immediately after visitation at 12:00 noon at Short Funeral Home followed by cremation.

 

            Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Oakland City University Social Science Memorial Claudine and Adélaïde Scholarship Grant, c/o Oakland City University, 138 N. Lucretia Street, Oakland City, IN  47760 and/or Wabash County Shelter Buddies, 11336 N. 1500 Blvd., Mt. Carmel, IL  62863.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
