William A Peach

William A. Peach, 79, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away May 10, 2023, at his residence.

Burial services will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 1:30 p.m., at Highland Memorial Cemetery, in Mount Carmel, Illinois.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home Chapel.

William was born to the late Jesse DeWitt and Mary Esther (Smith) Peach on January 28, 1944. He married Roselean Hall on November 24, 1976.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Roselean, and children, Billy (Samantha) Peach of Carmi, Illinois, Renee (Gary) Pearson of Mount Carmel, Illinois, Mike (April) Peach of Boonville, Indiana,  Ed (Melinda) Brannon of Palestine, Illinois, and Melissa (Eric) Weidner of Flora, Illinois. Also surviving are his two brothers Stephen Peach of Texas and Joe (Karen) Peach of Stanford, Kentucky, along with fourteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents.

He worked at Amax Coal Mine in Keensburg, Illinois as an Examiner and at Snap-On Tools. William was an MP in the United States Army. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Association. William loved hunting and was an avid fisherman who loved being around the river and having fish fries.

Memorials can be made to the Wabash County Shelter Buddies. Envelopes will be available at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home.
