Violet J. Dallas

~~Violet J. Dallas, 85, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2015. She was born on January 13, 1930 to W.G. and Juanita Dutton.

She is survived by her loving husband W.C. “Dub” Dallas and son, David (Marjorie) Dallas of Mt. Carmel; two grandsons, Matthew (Katie) Casburn of Grand Rapids, MI and Brandon (Jenny) Casburn and their daughter Cora of Indianapolis, IN; son-in-law Thomas Casburn of Findley, OH; sisters Shirley Price and Alene Oglesby; and brothers Bill Dutton and Larry Dutton.

Violet was a devoted wife and mother. She was a full time homemaker who took great pride in her family. Violet and Dub shared more than 66 years of happy marriage. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Carmel. Violet recently received her “Golden Circle Certificate” denoting 50 years as a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter Pamela Casburn; and a brother James Dutton.

Visitation will be at Short Funeral Home in Mt. Carmel Monday evening, August 17, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00PM. Funeral Services will be in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home Tuesday morning, August 18, 2015 at 11:00AM, with an hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Carmel.
