Tonya Lynn Wright

Tonya Lynn Wright, 60, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, peacefully passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born May 11, 1961, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, the daughter of Carl and Beverly (Garman) Hanisch. Tonya graduated from Mt. Carmel High School.

Tonya was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Mt. Carmel. She was a homemaker. Tonya enjoyed fishing and swimming. She immensely loved being with family, especially her grandchildren, and Dennis the cat.

Left to cherish Tonya’s memory are her children, Melanie (Nicholas White) Wright of Mt. Carmel and Mike (Carrie) Wright of Griffin, Indiana; grandchildren, Presley White, Emma Wright, Jaxon Wright, Luke Garrison and Seth Garrison; mother, Beverly Hanisch; and brother Tim Alldredge.

Tonya was preceded in death by her father Carl Hanisch and grandparents Leda and Cecil Garman.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until12:30 p.m. at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home, 527 N Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois. There will be a graveside service following visitation at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 1827 College Drive, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
