Timothy M "Mate" White

Timothy M. “Mate” White, 60 of Mt. Carmel passed away Thursday, December 17. 2020 in Mt. Carmel.

Tim was born September 16, 1960 in Mt. Carmel to Delores M. (Knowles) and Enos M. White. He attended St. Mary Catholic School and Mt. Carmel High School. He was a boilermaker by trade and always willing to help his friends with any project.

Tim is survived by his mother Dee; sisters, Teri Marie White of Evansville IN, Tina Michelle Cox of Simpson, IL, Tami Margaret White of Mt. Carmel IL; nephew, Jeremy K. White of Evansville IN; and many aunts and cousins.

“Mate” loved the outdoors, hunting arrowheads and Indian artifacts and learning the Indian culture. He felt right at home being down by the river camps. He enjoyed entertaining kids with his bag of magic tricks and playing Santa Claus for his friend’s children. He never met a stranger and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Tim was preceded in death by his grandfather William H. Knowles, grandmother Dorothy M. Knowles and uncle Harold “Butch” Knowles; his grandparents Dora M. and Herb McClane along with brother-in-law Al Cox.

Family and friends will gather for a drive through visitation at Short Funeral Home on Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 12 until 2:00 p.m. to offer condolences and share memories of Tim. There will be a Private Graveside Service at Highland Memorial Cemetery.

Social distancing practices, wearing of masks as well as use of hand sanitizer is expected.
