Shirley Jean Walters Bennett

Shirley Jean Walters Bennett, 85, of Eager, Arizona, formerly of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, in Arizona.

A Graveside Service for Shirley will be Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery.

Shirley was born November 2, 1938, in Harrisburg, Illinois, to William Taylor and Rosa Ann Rudd Walters. She married Wendell D. Bennett on December 5, 1952.  They had three children. Those left to mourn her passing are daughter, Gloria Darlene Bennett (Herman) Miller; son, William Doug (Debbie) Bennett; eight grandchildren, Bradley, Jeremy, Anthony, Brook, Steve, Matthew, Raven, Taylor; and eight great grandchildren.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mt. Carmel and a member of Eastern Star. She worked for many years as a beautician before retiring and moving to Arizona.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wendell; son, Steve and all her siblings.
