Paul Shular, 84, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana, surrounded by the love of his family.
Graveside services will be held Monday, December 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland Garden Mausoleum, 1827 College Drive, Mt. Carmel, Illinois, with Pastor Allan Wright officiating.
Memorials may be made to Keensburg Christian Church.
Paul was born October 3, 1940, in Eunice, Missouri, the son of Clarence and Hattie Marie (Lawson) Shular. On November 26, 1959, Paul married Barbara Elaine Haggard at the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. He and Barb owned and operated Shular Mobile Homes from 1976 until their retirement in 2002.
Paul enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with his grandsons and great-grandsons. Paul and Barb traveled extensively throughout their married life (from Alaska to Hawaii to Europe). After they retired, they purchased an RV and traveled, for about 30 years, to northern Michigan in the summer and Florida or Arizona in the winter.
Left to cherish Paul’s memory are his daughter, Lynette and her husband Dave Klostermann of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; grandchildren, Justin and his wife Chrissi Klostermann of Magnolia, Texas, and Jordan and his wife Jessica Klostermann of Evansville, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Colten and Jaxon Klostermann; brother, Joe Shular; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceding Paul in death were his parents Clarence and Hattie Shular; his wife Barb of 54 years; and siblings Jerry Shular and Helen Cox.
