Norma Jean Weiss, 88, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, peacefully passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022, at her home.
She was born November 11, 1934, the daughter of Clarence and Ada Pearl (Clark) Grubbs, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
For 22 years Norma Jean enjoyed working at Snap-On Tools. She was a member of the IAM Union, serving as past president. Norma was very savvy.
Left to cherish Norma Jean’s memory are her son, Tim (Carol) Weiss of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; grandchildren Melissa Jean (Dwayne) Dixon, Renee Weiss, Melonie Pollard, Timmy Weiss, Jr. (Sharalee), and Tyler (Brittany) Weiss; fifteen greatgrandchildren; and seven great greatgrandchildren; sisters, Sandra (Dale) Halfacre of Mt. Carmel, Illinois and Barbara Jo (Al) Steele of Greenville, Kentucky.
Norma Jean is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Sonny, Dickie, Claudie, and Billie Grubbs; and a great granddaughter Jimmie Sue Dill.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation Friday, December 2, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
