Norma L. Goodson, 86, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois peacefully passed away on November 15, 2025, at Oakview Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born on October 20, 1939, in Edwards County to her parents, Walter Wendall and Myrtle Marie (Thompson) Chappell. She married Theodore “Ted” Goodson on January 12, 1958, in Princeton, Indiana.
Norma was a Homemaker, and she loved being around her family and friends. She and Ted both enjoyed mowing throughout their lives. She was a member of Asbury Chapel in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
She is survived by her sister, Ramona McCorkle of Albion, Illinois and two nieces: Michelle McCorkle of Albion, Illinois and Samantha (Nick) McKinney of Mt. Erie, Illinois and two great nephews: Nathan and Wyatt McKinney. Norma is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and husband Ted, and daughter Linda D. Goodson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the service at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
