Mildred J. (Douglas) Lawson

Mildred J. Lawson, 85, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on August 27, 2022, at Transcendent Healthcare of Owensville, Indiana.

She was born on August 14, 1937, to Cecil and Josephine Douglas. Mildred married her late husband William Lawson on May 23, 1954, in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Mildred and her husband did a lot of crafting together using ceramics. They would make dolls and furniture to go with them. She enjoyed volunteering at church and the Brownsville School. Mildred loved camping and boating at Patoka Lake.

Left to cherish Mildred’s memory are her two sons Dustan Lawson of Mount Carmel, Illinois, and Kevin Lawson of Mount Carmel, Illinois; granddaughter Nicole (Mark) Jones; and great-grandchildren Dustan Jones and Cortney Jones.    

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Darrell Douglas.

Graveside service for Mildred will be Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
