Melba Dean (Savage) Masterson
Obituary
Melba Dean Savage Masterson, 98, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023, in Bridgeport, Illinois.
She was born August 19, 1924, the daughter of Edgar Milton and Jolee (Brown) Savage in Overton County, Tennessee. On January 31, 1948, she married Ray C. Masterson in Henderson, Kentucky and he proceeded her in death on March 1, 2000.
Melba enjoyed being a Homemaker and was a very good cook. She liked vegetable gardening, working with ceramics, and crocheting. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son Randy (Jewell) Masterson of Sumner, Illinois. Grandchildren; Brandon Ray (Michelle) Masterson, Trenton Lee (Shellie) Masterson, and Kristen Ann (Dan) Stanescu. Great-Grandchildren; Elijah, Grace, Conner, Tessa, Carson Masterson and Emma, Ava, Alex Stanescu.
Melba was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and three brothers.
A Graveside service will be held Monday, January 30, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, Illinois.
