Mary Catherine (Deisher) Peach

Our beloved mother Mary Catherine (Deisher), 94, of Mt Carmel, Illinois peacefully entered into rest on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.

She was born April 12, 1926, in Wabash County, IL to the parents of Lawrence O. and Gladys (Miller) Deisher.

In the early years of her life, Mary grew up and attended the Nye Chapel United Brethren Church in Mt Carmel where she would return each year for the annual homecoming celebration.

While on a double date she met the love of her life Erasmus Junior Peach.  They were united in marriage on January 14, 1946 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois and enjoyed 57 years of marriage until his passing on May 22, 2003.

Mary was a member of the Gospel Kingdom Church (formerly Gospel Assembly Church) for 75 years where she served in many departments of the church such as Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, sung in the Adult Choir and worked in the kitchen and dining room. She believed in prayer and her faith sustained her. 

She was a homemaker, a seamstress and an excellent cook and baker. She loved family get togethers and loved all her children and grandchildren dearly. 

Mary is survived by her son; Daniel Eugene (Judy) Peach of Mt Carmel, daughters; Pamela Kay (Ed) Mason of Jonesboro, AR, Debra Jo (Richard) Walker of St Francisville, IL and Karen Sue (Ken) McKinney of Newburgh, IN; grandchildren; Brian Tetrick of Bradenton, FL, Stacy Angle (Wes) of Evansville, IN, Michelle (Doug) Neff of Weatherford, TX, Chad (Amy) Price, of Mt Carmel, Jason (Stephanie) Sager of Weatherford, TX, Shannon Bruce of Mt Carmel, Megan (Justin) Selby of Evansville, IN, Derek (Emily) Walker of Mt Carmel; Todd (Melinda) Walker of Haubstadt, IN and Sheila Walker of Georgia; 21 great grandchildren; two great grandchildren; siblings; Loren (Lois) Deisher, Lloyd (Jane) Deisher, Donnie (Sandy) Deisher, Kay (Fred) Linxwiler all of Mt Carmel, Loree Barber of Princeton, IN and Lois Houchin of Grand Junction, CO; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence O. and Gladys Deisher; loving husband; Junior Peach, son; Robert Eugene Peach and daughter, Sheila J (Finn) Tetrick; grandson Jason Wayne Sager; siblings Floyd (Annabel) Deisher, Wilma (Johnny) Brown, Betty (Leland) Stoltz, Jean (Perle) McCaw, Esther (Earl) Youngman, Beverly Hardin and brother-in-law Frank Barber.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Gospel Kingdom Church.  Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.  Covid-19 practices will be in order—social distancing and masks, please.

Mary will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Cemetery with her beloved son Bobbie and her loving husband Junior.
