Marion L. Meyer

Marion L. Meyer, 85, of Mt. Carmel, IL, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 10, 1933 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jack Lois and Beulah Magdalene (Ester) Pointer.  She married Marvin Fred Henry Meyer on May 4, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Pamela Kay and husband James Wood and Mark and wife Debbie Meyer, all of Mt. Carmel; five grandchildren, Eli (Melanie)Landingham, Hannah (Luke) Shelby, Brianna Meyer, Jairma (Donnie) Simpson, RoeDale (fiancé, Wanda) Wood; and eleven great grandchildren, Wyatt, Blake and Trey Landingham, Autumn, Presley, and Isaac Shelby, Kelsie and Kenzie Simpson, Keyleigh, Kairi and Delilah Wood.

Marion was an active member of First Baptist Church in Mt. Carmel and dedicated to the Food Pantry ministry there. She was a homemaker and caregiver.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, June Risinger; and brother, Omer Pointer.

Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Short Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Carmel.
