Margaret L. McGuire

Margaret L. McGuire, 70, of New York, NY, passed away December 22, 2024, at Bellevue Hospital in New York, New York.  

Graveside services will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 1827 College Drive, Mt. Carmel, Illinois, at 11:00 a.m.

Margaret was born to the late Joseph Amos and Marsha (Nelson) McGuire on June 19, 1954, in Mt. Carmel, IL. She attended Baylor University and New York University and studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City. Margaret also worked as a CPA at Pfizer.

Left to cherish Margaret’s memory is her sister, Patti McGuire Strong and husband, David Donnelly, of Houston, Texas, her best friend, Allie Wightman, along with her husband, Jarrad Rook, and son, Jax. Also surviving Margaret is her loyal and loving dog, Maxwell. Preceding her in death were her parents.  

Margaret enjoyed acting and was an actress at Gene Frankel Theatre and many children’s theatres. She also loved reading and Democratic politics. She was of the Methodist faith.

Margaret’s family would like to extend their profound gratitude to her caregivers, Juliana, Rhonda, and Claudia.
