Lorretta V. Moody

Lorretta V. Moody,78, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois passed away peacefully at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation on October 20, 2025.

Lorretta was born February 5, 1947, in Lawrenceville, Illinois to Ralph Jack Campbell and Louella (Longbons) Campbell. She married Fred L. Moody on May 30, 1967, in St. Francisville, Illinois and they were blessed with 56 wonderful years together. 

She worked as a seamstress at the Mt. Carmel Clothing Factory. Lorretta’s favorite pastimes was cooking and sewing for her family.

Lorretta is survived by her son, Roger Moody of Browns, Illinois and brother, Jackie Lee Campbell. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren, Andrea Renne, Heather Roxanne, Autumn Rose, and Caleb Allen Moody, Nathan Greuel, Chelsea Veree and Taylor Lou Roosevelt.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Fred L. Moody, daughter, Lynnette Roosevelt, sister, Penny Sue Loewn, and brother, Louie Campbell.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow the service at Browns Cemetery in Browns, Illinois.
