Loren Deisher Obituary

Loren Kenneth Deisher, 87, was born on January 12, 1935 in Gards Point, Illinois to Lawrence and Gladys (Miller) Deisher. Loren passed away peacefully at his home in Mt. Carmel on June 2, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family.

He married Lois Clark on April 6, 1957 and together they enjoyed sixty-five years. He served in the United States Army on two occasions before being honorably discharged. Loren was employed at Snap-On Tools, Inc. for forty-four years before his retirement. He served as church custodian for over a decade and in the Royal Rangers boys’ program for many years. After retirement Loren enjoyed traveling with Lois, volunteering in the MAPS program building churches for the Assemblies of God, working as custodian at McDonalds, and starting his own lawnmowing/handyman business until age 86. He loved animals and in his later years was especially fond of his boxer, Dawg. He is well known and loved for his generous spirit and was always happy to lend a hand to someone in need.

Left to cherish is memory are his wife, Lois of 65 years; son Doug and wife Karen Deisher of Princeton, Indiana, daughters, Janet Doan of Mt. Carmel and Darla Norris of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Misti (Chris) Marsh, Maggie (Travis) Butera, Jonathan and Joshua Doan, Bethany and Bryce Norris; seven great grandchildren, Evan, Kyah and Conor Marsh, Sawyer, Samuel, Emma, and Evelyn Butera; siblings, Loree Barber, Lois Houchin, Kay Linxwiler, Lloyd (Jane) Deisher, and Donald (Sandy) Deisher.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and siblings, Floyd Deisher, Betty Stoltz, Wilma Brown, Beverly Harding, Mary Peach, Esther Youngman, and Jean McCaw.

Visitation for family and friends will be at Heartland Worship Center on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. at Heartland Worship Center.  Burial with Military Rites will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Heartland Worship Center.

Envelopes will be available at the church and the funeral home.
