Laura Lee Durkee

Laura Lee Durkee, 66, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Acorn Estates, Mt. Carmel, Illinois. She was born December 13, 1955 in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of Oliver W. and Nancy Randall Pease.

Laura was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Carmel. She worked as a cashier for Hyundai Merchant Marine, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Edward Maciulski of Mansfield, Texas and Shawn Maciulski of Franklin, Tennessee; grandchildren, Maxine Pryor, Declan Maciulski, Finnbar Maciulski, Amora Maciulski, Leina Maciulski; brothers, Dan Metcalf, Paul Goodman, Jim Goodman, Steve Goodman, Oliver Pease, II; cousin Diana Ehresman and good friend, Alice Steckler Moore.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Laura especially liked taking train rides and spending time near the water and the ocean.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents and brother Edward Metcalf.

Per her wishes, her body will be cremated.

There will be a Memorial Service Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Zion Lutheran Church, 7th and Market Streets in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
