Kenneth Bosecker Obituary

Kenneth A. Bosecker, 84, of Keensburg, Illinois, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation with his loving family by his side.

 

He was born Mary 4, 1935, in Cowling, Illinois, the son of Alvin and Dorothy (Cowling) Bosecker.  On September 5, 1953, Kenneth married Marilyn D. Coe at the Keensburg Methodist Church.  They enjoyed 66 years of marriage.

 

Kenneth was a member of the Keensburg Christian Church, serving as a deacon for many years.  He loved working at the church and for the church.  He had a passion for restoring cars and taking care of them after the restoration.  Kenneth worked as a brick mason and in later years in the automotive industry.  He enjoyed yard work and watching baseball.  Kenneth was a Keensburg Village Board member.

 

Left to cherish Kenneth’s memory is his wife of 66 years, Marilyn; children, Denise Davis and her husband Steven of Owensville, Indiana, and Janis Vickers and her husband Tony of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; grandchildren, Ryan Davis, Erik Davis, Lauren Vickers and Brayden Vickers; greatgrandchildren, Ayden Davis, Emma Davis and Noah Davis.

 

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents.

 

The funeral service for Kenneth will be held Monday, March 16, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.

           

Memorials can be made to the Keensburg Christian Church.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to the funeral home, Short Funeral Home, P.O. Box 397, Mt. Carmel, Illinois 62863.
