John Stafford Bridges

John Stafford Bridges, 75, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, peacefully passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, at Oakview Heights Continuous Care.

A private funeral service was held Monday, June 24, 2024, at Mound City National Cemetery, Mound City, Illinois.

John was born December 30, 1948, the son of Jack and Dorothy (McCaleb) Bridges. He was married to Evelyn Estosos. She preceded him in death.

Surviving is a son, John Clark Bridges.

Preceding John in death were his parents, wife, siblings, and his aunt Fae E. Porter.

John was a Jehovah Witness. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. John received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He worked as a prison guard and was an over the road truck driver.
