Garry Lane Foote, Jr.

Garry Lane Foote, Jr., 72, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, peacefully passed away at his home Saturday, September 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Garry was born December 1, 1950, in Wichita, Texas, to the late Garry Foote, Sr. and Nellie Christine Benham.  He graduated from Basic High School in Henderson, Nevada.

On January 31, 1969, he married Kathy Lynn Clark. From this marriage three sons were born: Anthony (Shauna) Foote, Steven Brian Foote, both of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, and Michael (Haley) Foote of Francisco, Indiana. In addition to his children, surviving are his grandchildren, Tawni Jo, Dylan, Bryce, Eli, Lilliah, Bella, Everly and Ashlyn; great-grandchildren, Piper, Granger, Deliah and Dustem; siblings, Toni Lee Potts, Carolyn Childress, Audrey Allen, Cynthia Brooks, Sherri Brooks, Tammy Szukala, Barbara Brooks and Kate Breest; stepsiblings, Laura Martin and Gus Buhl; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Lucy.

Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings Jimmy Foote, Doug (Soapie) Foote, Joseph Chatterly, David Chatterly, Sandra Wilcox, Valerie Breest and Teri Lynn Daniel.

Garry proudly served in the U.S. Army.  He worked at Test Sight Area 51,  was a pipefitter in heavy construction and later worked for Mt. Carmel Public Utility as a lineman.  Garry loved spending time with family.  He enjoyed listening to music, watching Eagles football, riding Harleys, dancing and camping.  Garry worked on motorcycles, fished, watched Marvel movies and Ancient Aliens, and played Zelda.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
