Franklin David Taylor

Franklin David Taylor, 76, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at his residence surrounded by family.

Dave was born January 25, 1944 in Mt Carmel, IL the son of Donald Edward and Anita (Haywood) Taylor. He married June Taylor Schafer June 14, 1969 in Mt. Carmel, IL. She preceded him in death in 2001. Dave was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School Class of 1963.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy with two tours of service in Vietnam.  He was proud of his service as a Seabee.

Dave worked in maintenance for Gibson Generating Station. He was a member of VFW, American Legion and Eagles.

David is survived by his son Edward David (Davy) Taylor and his wife, Misty, of Keensburg, IL; six grandchildren, Marissa Seibert, Beau Taylor and wife, Hannah, McKenzie Taylor, Kenny Taylor, Satchel Taylor and Hank Taylor; four great grandchildren Jocelyn Brown, Keith and Nolan Spore and Waylon Taylor; and sister Dee Parker of Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife June and sister, Gretchen Scott.

Per his wishes, his body will be cremated, and no service is planned.
