Doris Gould Obituary
Doris Mera Gould of Mt. Carmel, IL peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2024, at the Villas of Hollybrook at the age of 84.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Cunningham Funeral Home, Mt. Carmel. A burial will be held immediately following the service at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m. and continue until 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Cunningham Funeral Home.

Doris was born to the late Norman and Myrtlene (Pemberton) Gottman on May 28, 1940, in Francisco, IN. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1958. Doris married John K. Gould on July 4, 1963. To this union three children were born: Michael J. and wife Marivic Gould of Smyrna, TN, Bradley J. Gould of New Burnside, IL, and Patrick J. and wife Tamara Gould of Mt. Carmel, IL. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Shane, Rachel, Eryn (Emily), Luke (Lauryn), Annalise, Mira Michaela and John Michael; one sister, Wanda Martin. Preceding her in death was her husband, John; parents, Norman and Myrtlene and one brother, Harold Gottman.
Outside of raising three boys and loving seven grandchildren she worked as a bookkeeper for Wabash County Highway Department, retiring in 2004. Doris especially enjoyed taking her grandchildren to lunch and supporting their sporting events. In her younger years she enjoyed gardening and boating. Holding many different titles throughout her life, she will be remembered by Momma Gould, Momma D, Momma Goo, and Mamaw by those who loved her dearly.
