Donald Eddie Carmickle

Donald Eddie Carmickle, 68, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, peacefully passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Eddie was born March 15, 1956, the son of John F. and Donna Faith (Minton) Carmickle, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church.

Eddie was a very happy, outgoing individual that always had a smile on his face. He worked for Wabash Area Vocational Enterprises doing custodial jobs. Eddie loved working on projects at the workshop. He was in the Special Olympics and enjoyed the bowling events.  Eddie looked forward to his special friend, Donnie Banks, picking him up every Sunday to attend church and go for coffee.

Left to cherish Eddie’s memory is a friend, Donnie Banks; church friends; caregivers from Morris House; and many friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Terry Manko.

Cremation has taken place, and no service will be held.
