Davey Ray Dill, 65, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
He was born July 16, 1955, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, the son of Marion Elmer and Mary (Dutton) Dill. Davey graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines as a diesel mechanic. After his service in the Marines, he worked as a general contractor in the construction business.
Davey was an outdoor person. He enjoyed fishing, digging for shells, talking about Indians and Indian artifacts. Davey was a social person and liked sitting and talking and enjoying a social drink. His greatest love was that of his children and family.
Left to cherish Davey’s memory are his life mate Theresa Jones; his children Robin Glenn of Whately, Massachusetts, Ivan Dill of Grayville, Illinois, David Dill of Foley, Alabama, Isaac (Jessica) Dill of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Curt (Dara) Dill of Bellmont, Illinois, Clint Dill and Montana Dill of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; siblings Jeff Dill and Linda Dill of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; and twenty three grandchildren, Katelyne, Aaron, Jessup, Daniel, Shain, Tyler, Rebecca, Amanda, Ashton, Derick, Adriauna, Christian, Ethan, Curtis, CuraMae, Cara, Casing, Carter, Colt, Derick, Journey, Lillyauna, Liberty, Liam, Alex and Leslie.
Davey was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Steve, John and Marilyn Dill.
