D. Ray Goodson Obituary

D. Ray Goodson, 76, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 21, 2020 at his residence in Mt. Carmel, IL.

 

He was born February 28, 1944 in Mt. Carmel, the son of Alvin A. and Martha Marie (Wood) Goodson.

 

Ray was a member of Heartland Worship Center. He graduated from Mt. Carmel High School and had an Associate Degree. He honorably served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He was a member of the VFW Honor Guard.

 

He retired from CountryMark Energy Resources where he worked as an Instrument Recorder. He performed backhoe work; enjoyed carpentry work including woodworking. In his spare time Ray enjoyed raising, breeding and showing miniature horses. He loved his life and loved being with people.

 

Those left to share his memory are his daughter, Stefanie Raye Gladney and her husband Kenneth of St. Ann, MO; stepsons, Jeff Todd of California and David Todd of Indianapolis; sister Deborah Zaboli; four step grandchildren; nieces Michelle (Rich) Dusky and Andrea Lester.

 

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, and two infant siblings.

 

A Private Graveside Service will take place at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Memorial Service will be held at Heartland Worship Center at a later date.

         

          Memorial Contributions may be made the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office and the Mt.
