Carroll Robert “Bob” Davis of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away at his home on July 30, 2020, surrounded by his family.
Bob was born in Wabash County, Illinois, on June 14, 1937. His parents were Carroll and Flossie Davis. They preceded him in death. On July 20, 1958, he married the love of his life, Mary Ellen Hershey. They recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.
Bob was known by many for his years working at the local grocery stores and Mt. Carmel Lumber. He was an avid John Wayne fan, enjoyed wood working and sitting on the porch watching the trains go by.
He is survived by his wife and their two daughters, Connie (Terry) McPherson and Debbie (Roger) Havill; five grandchildren, Amanda (David) Greene, Timmy (Stephanie) Whitt, Leandra (Jeff) Parker, Allyson Fiscus and Kayla Havill; and seven great-grandchildren; siblings, George Davis and Jerry Davis, Rita McPheron and Sally Wright; and several nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
