Bobby Dicus Obituary

Bobby J. Dicus, 90, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away March 30, 2021, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. 

 

He was born August 15, 1930, the son of William Thurman and Amanda Grace (Dardeen) Dicus in Allendale, Illinois.  He was a graduate of Allendale High School.  On November 12, 1949, he married Virginia Dare Goad. 

 

Bobby was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church.  He worked as a machinist for Pacific Press and Shear.  Bobby was a member of the Masonic Lodge #239 in Mt. Carmel.

 

Left to cherish Bobby’s memory are his wife, Virginia, of 71 years of marriage; children Gary (Patty) Dicus of Evansville, Indiana, Donald (Mary Lou) Dicus of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, and Bryan (Cricket) Dicus of Carmi, Illinois; sisters Carol Jean Crouch of Mt. Carmel, Illinois and Barbara (Jim) Hatfield of Charleston, Illinois; ten grandchildren Summer Bennett, Holly Dicus, April Bonenberger, Aaron Simms, Abby Douglas, Rachel Simms, Katie Glenn, Jacob Dicus, Amy Whitley and Andy Mullins;  and eighteen great-grandchildren Myles Hawkins, Jackson, Samuel and Oliver Bennett, Dagan and Arian Bonenberger, Madeline, Caleb, Isaac and Andrew Douglas, Isaiah, Macy and Maya Glenn, Elijah, Ella and Elena Simms, Reagan and Reece Whitley; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Willard, Billy and Jerry Dicus; sisters Juanita Terrell, Maxine Blair, Bonnie Simonds, Virginia A. Dicus, Fern Couch and Mary Lee Day.

 

There will be a private family service Friday, April 2, 2021.  Burial will be in Allendale Cemetery.
