Albert Junior Morris

Albert Junior Morris, age 88, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formally of Mt. Carmel, born June 6, 1936, passed away on March 17, 2025.

No formal visitation or funeral service is planned at this time and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wabash County Animal Shelter Buddies, 11336 N 1550 Blvd., Mt. Carmel, IL 62863.

Junior had a lifelong passion for the oil patch, dedicating most of his career to the industry. He enthusiastically shared stories of his time in the field until his final days. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Oakland, California from 1957 to 1959, before returning to his life in the southern Illinois oil fields. A skilled shade-tree mechanic, Junior restored numerous antique cars, with his pride and joy being a 1972 white convertible VW Karmann Ghia. 

Above all, Junior was a devoted family man, a supportive and loving husband to his wife of nearly 70 years, Peggy, and a proud father to his daughter, Sonya.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy, daughter Sonya, and sister Betty Putnam. He also leaves behind nieces and many dear friends.
