Willis Rex Price obituary Willis Rex Price 88 years old of Hartford Il., formally of Mount Carmel, Illinois passed away on October 24, 2018 at Eunice Smith Home, in Alton, Illinois. He was born the 5th of 10 children on September 22, 1930 on the Price farm in Wabash County to the parents of Rex Burton and Luella Pearl (Beal) Price. He attended Lancaster High School for 3 years and graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1948. After graduating, he helped farm and then served his country in the Korean War in the 17th Infantry Division, Company G, 3rd platoon. He helped defend one of the hills around Pork Chop Hill. Following the war he returned to Mount Carmel where he worked for the railroad and Bob L. Williams Electric Company before heading to Illinois Power Company in 1972 until retirement in 1993. Willis was heavily involved in Shriner projects and the Oriental Band in which he became a Life Member in 2002. Willis married Barbara (Green) Price in 1984. Surviving is his wife Barbara, daughter Tania Kay Price, Chicago, Illinois, grandson Justin Gregory Price and Winter McGonigal, North Port, Florida. Sons Steven Allen, Roxana, Illinois and Robert (Barbara) Allen Mount Carmel, Illinois. Grandsons Craig Allen and Shawn (Amy) Allen, Jason (Stephanie) Allen, Travis (April) Allen. One grandaughter Renee (Dennis) Russ. Eight great grandchildren. Brother George Price, Princeton, Indiana. Sisters Julia Adams, Marion, Illinois, Roberta (Leon) Stutzman, Goshen, Indiana, Jeannette (Gene) Shepard, Porta Gorda Florida, Helen Peters, Maire Kolb both of Mount Carmel, Illinois and Loretta (Jim Price) Fletcher, Alton, Illinois, many nephews, nieces and cousins. He is predeceased in death by his parents, Son Timothy Willis Price, brothers, Jim and Nelson Price brother-in-laws Albert Woods, Geno Kolb,Jim Adams and Edward Peters. Sister Ruth ( Albert) Woods and sister-in-law Mary Lee Price. Nephews Rolla Harrell and David Adams. Niece Kay Stutzman. By Willis’s request there will be no service but a memorial will be held at a later date in his hometown of Mount Carmel, Illinois.
