William J. “Bill” Bosecker, 98, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away August 19, 2017, at Oakview Heights Continuous Care.
Bill was born August 14, 1919, in Wabash County, Illinois, the son of George and Lena (Neu) Bosecker. On October 22, 1941, he married Margie Frances James. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage until her death in 2005.
Bill was a member of Parkview Christian Church for 50 years. For thirty years he owned and operated a painting business known as Bill Bosecker Painting. Bill was a life member of Painters Union #156 and a member of Woodman of the World. His hobbies included growing flowers, doing yard work and building replicas of churches, the old Depot, and numerous other buildings.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, William “Sonny” Bosecker and his wife Carolyn; granddaughter, Amy Fritsch and her husband Robert; two greatgrandchildren, Richard Bowman and Elizabeth Fritsch all of Rochelle, Illinois; brother-in-law, Marion R. (Janet) James of Newburgh, Indiana; numerous nieces and nephews; and a friend, Betty Ankenbrandt.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers, Christian, Henry, George and Albert.
The funeral service for Bill will be Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois, with burial at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 23, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.
