Richard Albert Meier

Richard Albert Meier, 64, formerly of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

He was born November 30, 1954, the son of Albert and Maxine (Schrodt) Meier, Jr., in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.  Richard was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School. 

For twenty years he was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.  He loved golf, whether he was playing, shagging balls, or simply watching it on TV.

Left to cherish his memory are siblings, Rev. Don Meier and his wife Kathy of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tony Meier and his wife Pamela of Evansville, Indiana, and Linda Selvidge and her husband, Dr. William Selvidge, of Clearwater Beach, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Friday, December 14, 2018, from 11:30 to 1:00 in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home.  A private burial will be held.
