Reba Gayle (Warner) Padgett, 103, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018, at Heartland Christian Village, Neoga, Illinois.
She was born the fifth child to Charles and Sadie (Pinkstaff) Warner on August 3, 1915, in Pinkstaff, Illinois. Reba graduated from Lawrenceville High School and was a graduate of Colborn Beauty Academy; her early years she worked as a beautician. She married John T. Padgett on April 15, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1989. They were married 50 years. Reba loved spending time with her husband, daughters and grandchildren. She generously dedicated her life to them.
Reba was a 70 year member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Thus, being the oldest person of the church and oldest member of the church. She enjoyed golf, bowling, bingo, bridge club, extensive traveling and reading.
Relatives left to cherish Reba’s memory are a son-in-law, Rodney Lovellette; grandchildren, Kent Lovellette, Kirk Lovellette and Erin (Sam) Eddinger; great-grandchildren, Chaney Lovellette, Kaleb Lovellette, Allyson Eddinger and Chase Eddinger; and special friends, Chris and Russ Carie, and, Sandy & Jack Emmons.
Reba was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sadie Warner; husband, John; daughters, Teddy Ann Lovellette and Brenda Joyce Wirth; siblings, Lola Reavill, Luther, Glenn and Ralph Warner; and companion, Myra, her cat.
Memorials can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Envelopes will be available at Short Funeral Home.
Visitation for Reba will be Thursday, August 9, 2018, from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Derr Cemetery, Road 1500 N (Country Road 17) and 1320 E. Road, Lawrenceville, Illinois.
