~~Lorrie Jean Witsman, 55, of Allendale, Illinois passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born, August 23, 1959 the daughter of Roland Jr. and Lillian Frances (Whitten) Bailey. She married Ronald Eugene Witsman, Sr. on September 15, 1978 at Adams Corner Church in Allendale. He survives.

Lorrie was a member of Adams Corner United Methodist Church in Allendale and strong Allendale School supporter. She was a graduate of the class of 1977 of Allendale High School and graduated in 1979 with an associate’s degree in child care from Wabash Valley College. She was a homemaker, and also worked in various childcare positions, baby sat at home, worked as an aide at Shurtleff Manor and a Claims Representative at Golden Rule in Lawrenceville, IL for nine years.

She was very involved with her family, especially grandchildren. Cooking for family was a special time for her; Taste of Home a favorite magazine. She could always be counted on to take a dish to the fireman dinners and to others in need. She loved her TV shows, Wheel of Fortune and soap operas. She was an avid NASCAR fan; Ryan Newman was her favorite driver.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 38 years, Ron; sons, Ronald Eugene(Meri) Witsman, Jr., and Joseph Roland (Tanya) Witsman; grandchildren, Kylie Williams, Jaxson Witsman, McKenzie Smith, Madison Smith and fifth grandchild due in November, Liam Witsman; brothers, Roland (Nancy) Bailey III, Jim (Vickie) Bailey, David (Dixie) Bailey and Bill (Bonnie) Bailey; sister, Cindy (Roger) Carneal; and mother-in-law, Mary Hargart.

Ron remembers the special talks they had, the motorcycle rides with her auburn hair blowing in the wind. Sister, Cindy remembers “swimming” in a 5-gallon bucket until they splashed all the water out. Her family will have memories of vacation trips to Kentucky Kingdom, Kentucky Lake, Six Flags, and Kings Island. She was always up for a “camping” trip to a 5-star hotel, but the boys wanted to tent camp. The grand pets, Rocky, Rubicon, and Ziva had a special bond with Lorrie.

Lorrie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ashley Nichole Witsman; and father-in-law, Marlin Witsman.
