John Arthur Yelch

John Arthur Yelch, 56, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015, at his residence.

John was born August 9, 1958, the son of Julius M. and Helen (Albietz) Yelch, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. He was a 1977 graduate of Mt. Carmel High School.

John owned and operated Yelch Construction for 36 years; also working at Duke Energy Gibson Station. He was a member and elder of Pisgah Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport, Illinois. For 37 years he was a member of Carpenters Local #1188 of Mt. Carmel and Carpenters Local #546 of Vincennes, Indiana.

Left to cherish his memory is a brother, Dan and wife Cheryl Yelch of Elizabeth, Indiana; his sweetheart, Sonya Gould, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; cousin, Lorene Rutter of Mt. Carmel; niece, Sarah Yelch of Corydon, Indiana; and a nephew, Matt Yelch of Elizabeth, Indiana.

Family and friends may call Friday, August 14, 2015, from 11:00 to 2:00 at Short Funeral Home, 527 N Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, with Graveside Services following at 2:30 p.m. in Allendale Cemetery, Allendale, Illinois.
