I'm so sorry for your loss. The pain and grief of loosing someone we love can seem unbearable. Something that can be comforting is God's word. As 1 Corinthians 1:3&4 says; ...the God of all comfort, who comforts all in our trials...The Bible helps us to understand how God feels about death. Isaiah 25:8 says God will defeat our enemy death, and it will be gone forever. -More comforting truths can be found in a book called "What Does the Bible Really Teach". I hope you will look into this subject further. I know it will bring you comfort and peace as it did me.

I always looked forward to Mrs. Wiseman's class. Her spark and enthusiasm for each and every one of her students was amazing. Because of her I started writing poetry and came to read and appreciate the written word though college and still in my adult life. Her bright light will still shine from all of the lives she touched at CHS.

I just yesterday learned of Mrs. Wiseman's passing. Of all of my teachers, she is the one who I remember the most and can still picture the most clearly, sitting on top of her desk teaching us English. (She is probably still doing that, even now.) Every year or so I would find myself wondering how she was doing. Hers was a life well lived, and we will miss her.

To the family of Nell Wiseman: I was a student of Mrs. Wiseman, and she was my favorite teacher in all my years in school! What a contagious smile, and she always challenged us in her writing classes. I can honestly say she was the best teacher I ever had.

I send my heart-felt condolences for the loss of such a special woman, but I'm convinced her infectious smile is now in heaven with the angels. God bless. Nan (Davis) Havens

I was fortunate to have Mrs. Wiseman for both English and Algebra. What a great teacher! I had been thinking about a career in teaching and sitting under her teaching cinched that decision. As stated by others, it wasn't only that she could teach but she knew how to motivate, relate, and take alternate approaches to get through to those of us who were thick-headed. She was so positive I just looked forward to her class even if the subject matter (creative writing) was not my cup of tea.
One anecdote... The year I started teaching at the Charleston Junior High, there was a combined meeting of all the teachers in the Charleston School District at the High School before the school year started. I saw Mrs. Wiseman (as well as many of my teachers through my school years) and greeted her with "Hello, Mrs. Wiseman!" She returned the greeting and said, "Please call me Nell. After all, we are peers now!" She then went on to say how happy she was that I was teaching in the District. From that point on, I called her Nell (when in her presence) but it never felt comfortable for me.
What a lovely person inside and out! May God comfort Bob and Nell's extended family in her passing. God promoted an earthly angel to her heavenly status!

I loved Nell Wiseman. She was so enthusiastic and passionate when teaching us and I still remember all of the Shakespeare quotes I memorized from her class. She radiated genuine kindness and I still see her radiant smile beaming at each and every one of us. I loved going to English to be in her glow. Yes, she indeed was one of a kind. Totally exemplary as a teacher that I wish all the world's students could have experienced. Rest well and in peace Mrs. Wiseman as you sure worked hard and lovingly for all your students.
