Virginia Lee (Schwartz) Peach

Virginia L. Peach, 89, of Mount Carmel, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care and Rehab. She was surrounded by her loving family.

          Virginia was born Friday, November 23, 1928; the daughter of Oscar and Rosa Pickle Schwartz.  She married Norman E. Peach on July 21, 1945 in Vincennes, IN. He preceded her in death.

          She was a homemaker and enjoyed growing yellow roses. Reading was a great joy in quiet time. She loved watching her   grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and spend time with them.

          She is survived by two sons, Terry and his wife Connie Peach  and Steven Peach, both of Mt. Carmel; grandchildren, Christina (Andy) Page, Scott (Lesley) Peach; great grandchildren, Jacob Page, Colton Page, Evan Peach and Ella Peach; sister, Shirley Jean (Tim) Glasenapp; best friend, Jamie Bond; and several nieces and nephews.

          Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 70 years Norman; brothers, Lester Schwartz, Bob Schwartz, Merle Schwartz and sister, Maxine Snider.

          The funeral service for Virginia will be Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home. Family will receive visitors from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. She will be buried in Highland Memorial Cemetery next to her husband.
