Velma Jean (Deisher) McCaw

Jean McCaw, 87, of Mt. Carmel passed away on Saturday January 23, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

            She was born on Saturday, October 06, 1928 in Wabash County, IL  the fourth child of Lawrence Oliver and Gladys (Miller) Deisher.            

Jean married Elmus Perle McCaw on Tuesday, September 07, 1948, together they shared 56 years.

            Jean loved spending time with her family and enjoyed the many get-togethers they shared.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed working with her flowers.

            Left to cherish her memories are her three daughters, Barbara and husband Robert Allen, Linda and husband Bill Alka, and Judy and husband Mike Dunkel all of Mt. Carmel; eight grandchildren, Jason Allen, Renee and husband Dennis Russ, Travis Allen, Brett and wife Kay Lynn Alka, Andrea and husband Ryan Venis, Rhett and wife Elizabeth Dunkel, Cody Dunkel, and Evie Dunkel; eleven great-grandchildren,  Wyatt, Noah, Dalton, and Dain Alka, Emerie, Liam, and Kenan Venis; Evan and Elin, Russ, Asher and Elyn Dunkel; siblings, Mary Peach, Esther Youngman, Loree  (Frank) Barber, Loren (Lois) Deisher, Kay (Fred) Linxwiler, Lloyd (Jane) Deisher, Donnie(Sandy) Deisher, and Lois Houchin.

            Preceding her in death were parents; husband; siblings, Floyd Deisher, Betty Stoltz, Wilma Brown, and Beverly Harding.

            Visitation will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.  until the time of service  at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery.

            Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Marys Church Renovation Fund and  Keensburg Christian Church.
