Richard Lee Berberich

Richard L. Berberich, 79 of Mt. Carmel, passed away Friday November13, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born Saturday, November 16, 1935 in Wabash County, Illinois the son of John and Lola Keffey Berberich. He married Helen Kieffer on Saturday

January 14, 1961 at St. Mary’s Church in Mount Carmel and she survives.

Dick was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus in Mt. Carmel. He worked as a farmer, John

Deere, Kieffer Brothers and eventually retired from Pacific Press. He loved being with family and friends and his grandchildren were the light of his life.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 54 years Helen, two daughters, Angie Kruse and Sheila and her husband Freddie McGee; two

grandchildren, Tyler Kruse and Shea and her husband James Malone and one great grandson, Lucas Malone. Also surviving are three brothers, Norman and

wife Wilma, Eugene and wife Judy, and Karl and wife Dianna Berberich and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Dick in death are his parents; a daughter, Sherry Lyn Berberich; one brother, John Berberich, Jr and one sister, Thelma Raber.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Short Funeral Home at 527 N Mulberry St. with a Rosary service at 8:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 125 W 5th St in Mt. Carmel with burial

to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery on Poplar St in Mt. Carmel.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Mary’s Catholic School, 417 Chestnut St Mt. Carmel IL or to Celtic Hospice 115 W 8th St

Mt. Carmel IL. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
