Michael Francis Shine

Michael Francis Shine, 64, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Good Samaritan Hospital.

          He was born February 20, 1953, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, the son of Edward Mack and Mary Frances (Walker) Shine.   He attended Mt. Carmel High School.  On June 4, 1982, Mike married Melinda K. Seago in Mt. Carmel.

          Mike worked in construction and as a pipefitter.  He was of Catholic faith.  Mike was an avid arrowhead hunter and a member of the Illinois Archeological Society.

          Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 34 years, Melinda; children, Edward Mac Shine of Evansville, Indiana, Michael William Shine, Jesse Alan Shine and Mason Samuel Shine, all of Mt. Carmel; grandchildren, Aleighea Nidey and Asher Mathias Shine; and sister, Laura Shine of Evansville, Indiana. 

          Preceding him in death were his parents, Edward and Mary Frances Shine.

          Visitation will be held Friday, April 7, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00  p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

          A graveside funeral service will follow Friday, April 7, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. at Oddfellows Cemetery (IOOF) North Main Street, Princeton, Indiana.
