Mary Esther (Guisewite) Perillo

Mary Esther Perillo, 92, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, June 3, 2016, at Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, Indiana.

She was born February 1, 1924, the daughter of Clinton and Pearl (Marx) Guisewite in Friendsville, Illinois. Mary Esther was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School and later achieved her Cosmetology license. She married her husband; Anthony on September 29, 1943, in Trenton, N. J. Her favorite memories were traveling the world with Anthony and touring Italy and Europe. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2001.

Mary Esther was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and former member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Bridge Club. She ran her own beauty shop for over 50 years.

Left to cherish her memories are her 3 sons, Anthony (Linda) Perillo, of Phoenix, AZ., and Thomas Perillo of Mt. Carmel, and Ted (Diane) Perillo of Woodinville, Washington; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren that called her Grandma Perillo.

Preceding her in death were her parents Clinton and Pearl Guisewite, husband, Anthony; son, Steven Michael, brother, Delmar Guisewite, and sister Wanda Schuler.

Visitation for Mary Esther will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Short Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
