Madeleine G. Alka

Madeleine G. Alka, 85, of Boonville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Golden Living Centers in Evansville, Indiana.

Madeleine was born June 4, 1930, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, the daughter of Virgil and Cora (Davis) Carroll. She married William Alka, September 24, 1948 in Henderson Kentucky. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2009.

She enjoyed cooking and baking and was a loving mother and grandma.

Left to cherish her memories are her children James W. and his wife Christa Alka of Henderson, Kentucky, and Carol Jean Alka of Atlanta, Georgia; a granddaughter, Dr. Jamie C. Alka of Henderson, Kentucky; and a sister, Virginia Wilkinson of Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband.

Family and friends may call Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 527 N Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois. A Graveside service will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. in Highland Memorial Cemetery, 1827 College Drive, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
