Kenneth W Thompson

Kenneth W. Thompson, 74, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017.

Kenny was born August 29, 1942, in Knox County, Indiana, the son of Dudley and Clara (Rouse) Thompson.  He was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School.   Kenny proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve.

He was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church.  Kenny was a member of BPOE #715 and served as a Past Exalted Ruler.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sheila and her husband David Bellessa of Elizabethton, Tennessee, Kenneth Bradley and his wife Sue Thompson of Mt. Carmel, and Robie Wayne and his wife Jane Thompson of Bellmont, Illinois; grandchildren, Taylor and Morgan Bellessa, Bryce and Kendall Thompson, and, Austin and Ashton Thompson; sister, Jo Karen Loeffler of Allendale, Illinois; sister-in-law, Millie Thompson, and brother-in-law Jerry Potts. 

Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Sarah Evelyn Williams and Edith Potts;  brother, Loren Thompson; and brother-in-law’s, Forrest Williams and Keith Loeffler.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 12, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.  Burial will follow at Orio Cemetery.

Family and friends may gather at Short Funeral Home Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. for visitation. 

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Hal Johnson Elks Memorial Scholarship or to Mt. Carmel Shelter Buddies.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
