Joyce F. Goldman

Joyce F. Mason Goldman, 94, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 5, 2018.

She was born September 1, 1923, in Griffin, Indiana, to Everett and Bessie (Moutray) Bump. 

Joyce married Quentin “Smokey” O. Goldman on August 8, 1981, in Mt. Carmel.  He preceded her in death.  She was a member of the First Church of Nazarene where she served on the board and worked as church secretary.  Joyce worked at Wabash General Hospital for twenty years and at WADI for seventeen years.  She was a member of the Golden Girls Club and Red Hatters. 

Left to cherish Joyce’s memory is her son, Darrell Mason and wife Debbie of Henderson, Kentucky; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Kimmel of Mt. Carmel; step-children, Gary Goldman and Rita Seaton of Mt. Carmel, and, Joyce Stillwell of Scottsburg, Indiana; six grandchildren, Jeremiah (Beth) Mason, Justin (Liz) Mason, Stacey Kimmel, Sonya (Dave) McDaniel, Sandy (Dennis) Keneipp and Art (Crystal) Kimmel; several step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Rita Mason; son, Ernest Kimmel; brothers, James, Charles and Ben Bump; great great-grandson, Maxton Ray Acton; and, a step-son, Larry Goldman.

Friends and family may call for a visitation on Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 11:00 until 2:00 in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service.
