Jacqueline F. (Oudoux) McGregor

Jacqueline McGregor, 85, of Mt. Carmel passed away on Sunday, May, 28, 2017 at Linda White House Hospice in Evansville, IN.

 

She was born on Thursday, October 08, 1931 in Cherbourg, France; the daughter of François and Marguerite (LeGriffon) Oudoux. Jacqueline lived in France until 1950 when she and her mother moved to the United States; first living with her sister Francine Wood in Virginia. After a few years Jacqueline and her mother moved to Mt. Carmel to live with her other sister, Gisele Smith.  Shortly after she meet Robert McGregor; they dated for a year and were married on July 10, 1955 at the EUB Church on 5th and Cherry.  In 1963 she and her sister Gisele went to University of Illinois in Champagne and completed their naturalization; becoming a United States Citizen.

 

Jacqueline enjoyed working in her flower gardens and walks through Beall Woods State Park.  She and Bob attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Mt. Carmel. When she first moved to Mt. Carmel she worked for Russ Imbler Pharmacy. Jacqueline then spent 19 years working as a secretary for John Dersch Oil Company.  Once she retired from Dersch Oil she worked for her sister, at Smith Jewelers.  She and Bob spent a lot of time Bowling. They were on leagues together and she was on a woman’s league.  Jacqueline enjoyed traveling to bowling tournaments with the woman’s league.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and they will always remember her as Mémère

 

Left to cherish her memories is her husband of 61 years, Bob; one son, Terry and his wife Teresa McGregor; three grandchildren, Meghan and her husband Dustin Fryman, Mary Katherine Katie McGregor and Caleb Robert Elmore McGregor; five great grandchildren, Aiden, Issac, and Ava Fryman, and McKenna McGregor – Berberich and Carli McGregor-Schutz; one sister, Gisele Smith; nephews and  nieces, Collette Grisby, Yvette Wilkinson, Karen Terry, and Jacqueline Ellis, Brenda and Mike Saindon, David and Pacita McGregor, Mike and Sue McGregor, Sonya and Ryan Shaver and four nephews living in france; one sister-in-law, Norma Dyehouse; one brother-in-law, C.D. and his wife Sandy McGregor.

 

Preceding Jacqueline in death were her parents, and one sister Francine Wood.

 

Per her wishes she is being cremated. Graveside services will be held at Highland Memorial Cemetery on Monday, June 05, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.; reception for family and friends will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church following the service.    

 

Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church or Linda E. White Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the service.
