Harold Brent

Harold Brent, 96, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Wabash General Hospital. 

          He was born January 30, 1920, the son of William H. and Vinia (Morland) Brent.  He proudly served during WWII in the U.S. Army.  Harold worked at Allendale Sand and Gravel as a truck driver.  He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. 

          Left to cherish his memory is daughters Nanette Hodgson of Mt. Carmel and Anne and her husband Pete Anderson of McCleansboro, Illinois; nine grandchildren; fourteen greatgrandchildren; and, eight great-great grandchildren.   

          Preceding him in death were his parents; wives Ella Mae and Geneva; children, Beulah Irvin and Marie Eirick; grandchildren, Rod Irvin and Kim Cameron; brother, Howard Brent; sister, Geneva Brent; three half- brothers, Ellison, Raleigh and Wilborn; and four half-sisters, Anna, Pearl, Lorn and Nora.

          Graveside services will be Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 1827 College Drive, Mt. Carmel, Illinois. 

           Visitation will take place Saturday, November 19, 2016, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
